Being a well-known celebrity comes with the threat of stalkers and he was just granted a restraining order by a judge in order to protect himself against an alleged female stalker who has reportedly been harassing him for more than a year.<\/p>\n<p>McConaughey filed for protection ahead of an upcoming book event due to fears that his stalker would attend.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents obtained by TMZ, this woman had been sending \u201cunhinged letters, emails and frivolous lawsuits designed to lure [him] into court and contact [him].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It seems that she had also made false claims about being co-author of his new picture book \u201cJust Because\u201d and her advances towards him have become increasingly aggressive in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The actor noted that the harassment began back in April 2022 but unfortunately hasn&#8217;t ceased since then.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"qme\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iS6mAcMNRC\">https:\/\/t.co\/iS6mAcMNRC<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/justbecausebook?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#justbecausebook<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wlrkuVL7ll\">pic.twitter.com\/wlrkuVL7ll<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Matthew McConaughey (@McConaughey) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/McConaughey\/status\/1704626605597855990?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 20, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The situation took a worrying turn when the woman purchased ticket to the photo opportunity surrounding the release of Just Because which was scheduled to take place in Los Angeles; she reportedly planned on traveling 300 miles just so she could meet McConaughey face-to-face at the event.<\/p>\n<p>To add further worry, TMZ reported that a threatening email was sent to the bookstore ahead of time confirming her intentions were genuine.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, McConaughey never contacted this woman himself as he requested his security team treat her with kindness when they encountered her instead.<\/p>\n<p>He simply wanted this whole situation put behind him once and for all without having any direct interaction with her himself whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, temporary restraining order is now firmly in place although details within these court documents remain confidential at present time.<\/p>\n<p>All we can do is hope that justice prevails and McConaughey can go about living his life without fear or threat from this individual going forward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Iconic Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey recently faced some scary news.
