Additionally, she used her connections to bring in donations from companies and groups which exceeded $1 million dollars worth of items such as ebikes, electric scooters, electronics, toys dry foods small appliances ukuleles and various clothing items.<\/p>\n
Overall more than 2170 acres of Lahaina were devastated by the fires leaving 97 dead 66 missing and thousands homeless.<\/p>\n
Trump’s actions stand in stark contrast to those of self-interested stars like Oprah Winfrey who quickly took advantage of this tragedy for personal publicity before disappearing just as quickly as they appeared without providing any real help or support.<\/p>\n
Similarly actor Dwayne Johnson also faced criticism for using this disaster as an opportunity for self-promotion instead of contributing his own resources like many expected he would do given his high net worth status.<\/p>\n
In fact it seems our current president hasn’t even bothered giving these victims much attention or offering his aid despite having dedicated resources available to him that could be put towards alleviating their suffering.<\/p>\n
