A former participant on “The Bachelorette” has become a fan favorite. Josh Seiter has become very popular on social media for openly sharing his struggles with mental health. Well, earlier this week, it was reported that he had died. as it turns out, his account got hacked and it was all a big hoax.

Sorry for the Inconvenience

Seiter’s Instagram account had posted a death notice for the former reality TV star. Condolences started to roll in and it was widely reported by the mainstream media.

There was only one problem…

Seiter was not dead.

He claimed that his account had been hacked, but assured everyone that he was alive and well. Seiter posted a video, stating, “I am alive and well.  My account was hacked.

“For the last 24 hours, I have been trying desperately to get into it. Somebody was playing a cruel joke and mocking my mental illness and the struggles I’ve gone through with depression and suicide attempts.

“And I’m sorry for the pain they caused when they made that post. I just got back into my account.

“I am going to do all I can with my team to try to identify who is behind this.

“But again, I apologize for the confusion. And I will update you guys as more facts come in.”

About two years ago, Seiter was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar depression, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). I cannot help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, Seiter made the post thinking he was going to commit suicide or possibly just wanting to see what the reaction would be to him having died.

I know it sounds very pessimistic, but I just find it odd that a random reality star would be targeting this way who just happens to have mental health issues. I hope I am wrong but if not, this kid clearly needs some help.
