One of the longest-employed female personalities at ESPN is out. Wendi Nix, who has been working for ESPN for almost two decades, will no longer be hosting “College Football Live” or any other show for ESPN. ESPN has been cleaning house for weeks, and it appears as though they are not quite done yet.

Gotta Go

Out with the old and in with the new…

As part of the house cleaning, ESPN has been dumping a lot of big salaries.

These often come with personalities that have been working at the network for more than a decade.

Nix, who has been with ESPN for 17 years, was caught in that trap.

She posted the news on her social media profile.

She wrote, “Exactly 17 years ago, I walked into ESPN wide-eyed and excited.

“This week, I walk out the same way.

“Grateful, but equally excited about the next chapter. To be continued…”

The support for her came in immediately, with past and present co-workers wishing her good luck on whatever the next chapter may bring for her.

ESPN recently laid off about 20 on-air personalities.

Nix’s situation was a bit different, as her contract had just expired, and the network chose not to renew.

Nix, who is 48, will be replaced on “College Football Live” by Kelsey Riggs, who is 34.

If you really want to know why Nix is being replaced by Riggs, just go check out Riggs’ Instagram page.
