Cocke County Sheriff CJ Ball has confirmed that there were no injuries reported and no one was inside the building when it was set ablaze.
According to him, it appears as though all hope for saving the structure is lost.
To help with putting out fires, several agencies responded including Newport Fire Department, White Pine Fire Department and Dandridge Fire Department.
Sheriff Ball also stated there is currently no risk to public safety besides the flames themselves.
Unfortunately, however, the building is said to be a total loss due to the devastating flames.
This is a developing story with new details continuing to come in.
