Despite it being over four years since the death of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, there are still a lot of questions that have remained unanswered about his life. This includes who his clients were and what exactly the authorities knew about him and Epstein island. Now a new piece of the puzzle has been revealed however, it raises more questions than answers.
Recently disclosed court records dating back to 16 years ago have indicated that federal authorities were aware of more than $1 billion being spent on human trafficking at the time of Epstein’s reported suicide inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.
This was revealed by Mimi Liu during a court appearance in Manhattan when she stated that JPMorgan Chase had notified the Treasury Department about these transactions after Epstein died, adding even more intrigue to this legal battle.
She further accused JPMorgan Chase of facilitating sex trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein for 15 years and claimed that their entire business with him was related to human trafficking.
Mimi Liu also argued that despite multiple internal red flags and his 2008 guilty plea to a sex crime in Florida, JPMorgan persisted in conducting business with Epstein for years.
The U.S Virgin Islands are now suing the bank for allegedly facilitating sex trafficking by Jeffrey Epstein.
They have put forward evidence such as over 20,000 sexual acts being paid for through transfers from his account at JPMorgan and suspicious withdrawals from same accounts which amounted to over $9 million dollars paid out to women throughout the 15 year period between 1998-2013 when he was a customer at JPMorgan Chase Bank.
Attorney Jennifer Freeman sent a letter recently addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland and DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz asking them why no proper investigation was done into allegations against Jeffery Epstein going back as far as 1996.
This was when her client Maria Farmer reported her case of sexual abuse against him and Ghislaine Maxwell along with other cases where minors were sexually abused by them.
In addition she reported what could potentially be child pornography material possessed or distributed by them.
However it seems like these accusations were brushed aside or disregarded entirely until recently when enough attention was drawn towards this case due to public outcry and media coverage.
At this point we can only hope justice is served properly without any cover ups or disregard for victims whose lives have been forever changed.
