Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy continues to act like a spoiled toddler who isn’t getting their way…and now he’s starting to pay the price for his childish actions. In fact, thanks to his recent remarks, he has now lost the support of Poland, one of Ukraine’s biggest allies.

The relationship between Poland and Ukraine has become strained due to a dispute over grain exports. Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made some remarks at the United Nations General Assembly that were less than flattering towards Poles.

In response, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki issued a stern warning that he would not allow the good name of Poland to be insulted again. This is an important issue for Poland as it seeks to protect local farmers from unfair competition from abroad.

Morawiecki was clear in his message that insults directed toward Poles will not be tolerated. At a rally on Friday he stated: “I want to tell President Zelenskyy never to insult Poles again, as he did recently during his speech at the U.N.” He continued: “The Polish people will never allow this to happen, and defending the good name of Poland is not only my duty and honor, but also the most important task of the Polish government.”

This statement shows how serious Morawiecki is about protecting the reputation of his country and its people.

The rift between Ukraine and several European countries has been growing due to this disagreement over grain exports. A number of European nations have imposed bans on Ukrainian grain imports in order to protect their own farmers from unfair competition.

Despite attempts by the EU to suspend these bans, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia have decided to keep them in place which has led to protests in Ukraine as well as lawsuits against those countries involved in imposing them.

During his visit last month for The United Nations General Assembly meeting, Zelenskyy appealed for additional aid for Ukraine from US Speaker Kevin McCarthy amidst looming government shutdown deadlines.

Interestingly enough though when asked about it Polish President Andrzej Duda likened Ukraine’s struggle against Russia “to a drowning person” indicating that it was having negative impacts upon those who were attempting help it out with aid or other forms of assistance.

As such one can see why there are so many issues surrounding this particular disagreement between two former allies turned adversaries under certain circumstances.
