Texas, Governor Scores Huge Win in Court

Well, the decision by a lower court to have the floating barriers removed has been put on hold. Governor Abbott placed floating barriers in the Rio Grande to help stop migrants from crossing over. Earlier in the week, those barriers were ordered to be removed. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, however, said to pump the brakes.

Big Win for Abbott

U.S. District Judge David Ezra had ordered the barriers removed, calling the barriers a “threat to human life.”

If you have not seen the barriers, they are massive buoys with blades placed between them to prevent people from squeezing between the buoys.

Abbott did not ask for permission from the federal government, claiming this was an invasion of Texas and the United States.

The barriers were placed near Eagle Pass, which is one of the most overrun border cities in this country right now, at least until the barriers were placed.

The stay means the barriers will now be able to stay in place while this all plays out in court.

It is not a final win, but it is a win, nonetheless.

With the way things have been going lately, I will take what we can get.
