20 Killed in Fiery Head-On Collision

Tragedy has struck South Africa after a bus crash occurred on Sunday afternoon, September 17 in the Limpopo province. Apparently the bus was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle, causing a fiery crash.

At least twenty people were killed and four more sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized.

Murray & Roberts, a South African engineering and construction company, reported that eighteen passengers of the bus as well as the driver of the other vehicle lost their lives in the incident.

Four individuals were taken to hospital for treatment but two sadly succumbed to their injuries while there.

Videos circulating on social media showed black smoke coming from both vehicles along with bodies at the accident scene.

It is reported that Mayor Dowelani Nenguda, Cllr Godfrey Mawela, executive mayor Florence Radzilani of Vhembe as well as senior general manager at Venetia Mine Ntokozo Ngema visited the site where they received a full report regarding the accident from Venetia Mine offices.

This is not the first major bus accident involving significant casualties seen this year in Limpopo Province; one such incident happened back in February where around twenty lives were lost following a collision between a bus and cash-in-transit van.

The families affected by this tragedy have been offered condolences from Murry & Roberts who said they are focusing on providing necessary support to those impacted by this event during an incredibly difficult time for them all.

Losing someone you love can be devastating under any circumstances but it is especially hard when it happens suddenly due to an unexpected tragedy like this terrible crash has caused in Limpopo Province.

The impact on families affected will undoubtedly be long lasting and far reaching, leaving them feeling overwhelmed by grief while they come to terms with what has happened.

It is vital that authorities do everything within their power to investigate further into what exactly led up to this traumatic event so those left behind may find some closure.
