On Wednesday, a business jet carrying 10 people from Moscow to St. Petersburg crashed, killing all on board according to Russian emergency officials.

Reports indicated that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of Wagner private military company, was on the passenger list but his presence could not be confirmed immediately.

Russia’s civilian aviation regulator Rosaviatsia stated that Prigozhin was listed as one of the passengers but it remained unclear if he had boarded the plane or not.

According to Tass, the news agency operated by Russia’s government, there were three pilots and seven passengers in total onboard when it crashed in Tver region located more than 100 km away from Moscow.

Investigations into what caused this crash are currently ongoing.

Evgeny Prigozhin is known for leading Wagner private military company which supported Russia’s regular army in Ukraine battles.

At the end of June, he attempted an armed mutiny against Russia’s military leadership after which Kremlin promised him exile to Belarus while also allowing his fighters to either retire or join Russian military forces alongside him.

This tragic accident has left a lasting impact on Russia as many people have been questioning why such tragedy occurred at all.

This incident has also raised questions about Evgeny Prigozhin’s involvement and his possible role in this event which adds further confusion to this already tragic situation.

This is a developing story with new details still coming in.
