Well, it looks like Los Angeles Chargers fans have just been handed some bad news in the form of disappointment former All-Pro cornerback J.C. Jackson. After signing a major free agent contract with the team, which is a five-year deal worth $82.5 million, was expected to bring success, but has given anything but.

When he was healthy this season, Jackson struggled mightily in coverage which added to his woes with the Chargers. To make matters worse, he ruptured his patellar tendon in Week 7 which ended his season prematurely.

Now an arrest warrant has been issued for him in North Attleboro, Massachusetts for failing to pay a $600 fine and attend a class on reckless driving by September 22nd.

Jackson’s recent legal issues are not something new as he has had problems with law enforcement throughout his career so far.

Last year while still with the New England Patriots, Jackson was arrested in North Dartmouth over a “nonviolent family issue” which led to his release just one day later.

In 2015 while playing football at University of Florida, he faced charges of burglary and robbery though he was eventually found not guilty but that caused him to transfer from Florida before landing at University of Maryland from where he declared for 2018 NFL draft only to go undrafted due to these legal troubles among other factors.

These allegations further called into question how someone who seemed so promising during their time at New England could suddenly find themselves facing such drastic consequences due to poor decisions outside the football field.

Despite all these issues however it is important to remember that Jackson wasn’t always this embattled figure.

Several years ago back during Super Bowl LIII he helped lead New England’s defense en route its victory over Los Angeles Rams culminating what had been quite an impressive stretch prior entering free agency where they earned NFL Second-team All Pro Honors following 8 interceptions including his first career pick six leading up 2021 season.

Now as we enter what appears will be uncertain times ahead regarding both his legal status and any potential role going forward with Los Angeles, one can only hope that whatever path lie ahead for him will ultimately bring some sort closure or resolution moving forward.
