Mark Meadows dared to do the unthinkable and actually take the witness stand in the latest Trump witch-hunt unfolding in Fulton County, Georgia. U.S. District Judge Steve Jones was too stunned to rule from the bench but he seems to be leaning toward granting a defense request to move the case into federal court. That would make Democrats really unhappy.
Mark Meadows defies Democrats
Rightful President Donald Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows, dared to take the witness stand in defiance of the charges Democrats are harassing him with. Nobody in Fulton County, Georgia was expecting the bold move. When right is on your side, you shout the truth from the rooftops. He spent roughly three-and-a-half hours on Monday, arguing that anything he did or decided was “part of his official government duties.”
Oliver North got away with Iran-Contra using that defense because it’s a good one. “I was doing my job.” He “tried to personally observe the signature-matching operation in Cobb County, Georgia, so that he would be prepared when the president asked him about it, Meadows testified. He said some of his contacts with state officials were partially about Covid relief funds, in addition to the Trump-fueled discussions about overturning the results.”
Meadows isn’t trying to escape responsibility, he simply argues through his attorneys that it’s rightfully a decision for federal court. Most Americans see the trumped up charges as nothing but a combination of election interference and an attempt to get Donald Trump assassinated.
America is a sham at this point.
Mark Meadows is one of the strongest patriots our nation has known and he served the President with dignity and honor.

On August 28, Meadows did his best to set the record straight about “his job at the White House and the chaotic post-2020 election period.”
The testimony elicited by his counsel at Monday’s hearing took prosecutors totally by surprise and they were largely ineffective at refuting the contentions that as “Trump’s right-hand man at the White House,” Meadows had an obligation to file various formal grievances and take other actions to question the integrity of the 2020 election result. It was all “part of his official government duties.”
If the judge can’t find any serious argument to the contrary, “the trial could end up moving from state court to federal court.” It pretty much boils down to “if he shot a demonstrator in Lafayette Park, that would obviously be outside the scope of his duties.” Short of something like that, he was simply doing his job.
A more advantageous spot
Federal court, CNN despairs would be “a more advantageous legal spot for Meadows.” That’s because it “would dramatically upend the case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.”
This kangaroo court is being held after “the grand jury indicted Trump, Meadows and 17 others on racketeering charges related to efforts to subvert the 2020 election results.” Daring to even question if the results were accurate has been suddenly declared illegal. The timing also seriously challenges the integrity of the upcoming 2024 election.
CNN was totally rattled that Meadows would dare to fight back by telling the truth on a witness stand. “What unfolded in Atlanta on Monday was shocking by legal standards,” they write.
Mark Meadows is right to demand a change of venue out of Fulton County, GA over these bogus RICO allegations. I hope there’s a brave federal judge who grants this emergency request, and every “defendant” in this witch hunt should follow suit. #NewsMax @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/wVZuwn2fwQ

“Criminal defendants often take advantage of their constitutional right and decline to testify as part of their legal proceedings. And even smarter defendants decline to speak publicly about their case while it’s still ongoing.” He wasn’t supposed to do that but did it anyway.
“Putting Meadows on the stand gave prosecutors the chance to question him about the events after the 2020 election in a setting where his words can be used both against him and the other defendants in the Fulton County case.” It didn’t do them a bit of good and they didn’t gain a single inch of legal ground.
Trump’s chief of staff argues “that he falls under a federal immunity claim extended, in certain contexts, to individuals who are prosecuted or sued for alleged conduct that was done on behalf of the US government or was tied to their federal position.” Democrats are terrified because the prosecution couldn’t refute that and if Meadows gets his case moved, “all of the 19 co-defendants – including the former president” get moved to federal court as well. Democrats want to keep it in Georgia because Trump can’t pardon himself for it there.
